January 2020 Book Reviews

Wow!  I can't believe how quickly February has slipped past me.  i had planned on making this post a week or so ago.  But-- I was sick for a while and I helped my mom move into her new apartment, so I was a bit more busy than usual.  But I am finally able to share my January 2020 books that I have read and my reviews.  Let's get started!!!!

Aaron has an amazing job that keeps him traveling all over searching for the perfect locations.

Mia lives in her small town of Destiny Falls working a job she also loves.

Aaron really has no desire to settle down in one place- no time for a permanent relationship.

Mia has been hurt one too many times- Her trust is hard to come by and doesn't give her heart to anyone..

These two have amazing electricity together The story line is so sweet! I fell in love with Destiny Falls and Lake Hope! Read Aaron's Heart and find out how this wonderful HEA plays out! You will truly love this romance. 5 Stars!!!

Astra and Ace

Four years ago Astraea left Westbrook- her life destroyed after a horrendous, cruel act upon a 13 year old girl. Now another tragedy brings her back, the death of her twin brother.

I truly freaking loved getting to know a little about each and every character. I was on the edge of my seat, waiting to find out what happens next. Ace, Noah and Emmett are all Astra has known. She loved them until they left her on her words days. Once she returns home, she learns they have changed. What really happen those days before she left? What happened to her brother? What happens between the 4 of them? And Yes, There is a cliffy and had my jaw dropping and excited to read book 2. I recommend reading.

Vicious Hate by Thandiwe Mpofu

Devastation tastes a lot like ash in your mouth.

It feels like looming death hanging over your bones.

It sounds like the violent shattering of your soul.

It has an acrid smell much like that of rotting hearts. . .

But most of all, devastation looks a lot like the beautiful, fiery girl with her fake sincerity and lies. Now, she thinks we're somehow an option that she can discard at any fucking time.

Does it surprise you then, sweetheart, that I would show you what real hate is?

Isn’t it a tragedy after all? To wish on a star that has fallen from grace? Because baby, that’s what you are to me now. A beautiful tragedy that I desperately want to make atone for all her sins.

I guess we were two mismatched, vicious and tragic souls flourishing in hate, headed straight for the sweet experience of deep devastation.

Wow!!!! If you have not read Reckless hate- Book 1, You really need to . The More i read, the more i felt heartache, love, devastation, lies, some seriously messed up people and friendships are tested.

GAH!! Everything has me wondering WTH?! I need the next book!!! I need answers. Yes this one also has a cliffy, But there is so much more! Revelations you would not believe!!! Can NOT wait for book 3!!! I LOVED it!!!!!

12 years ago Ethan broke Winters heart. Over the years, Winter has perfected her burglarizing skills and is now working with Jared. This last job is one that will change EVERYTHING for everyone involved.

This as spectacular! There are some really awesome characters, amazing twists, the entire book had me page turning like crazy . You will enjoy! 5 stars

Hallow has a pretty horrible relationship with her mom, she is not very nice. Gage is always there to defend her. Once she turned 18 Hallow began to have some adult thoughts, she knew she shouldn't. Gage has begun to notice Hallow more since she turned 18, and he knows he should't. What happens when Mom leaves and it is just the two of them now?


This was a quick read. I did enjoy the steamy parts. The story-line is pretty strait forward. If you enjoy stepdad books this would be one you should check out. I did love the protective aspect. Also everyone is of age.

This book is one of my favorite books ever! Small town romance always gets me, but this was FANTASTIC!

Meyer is perfection. Cowboy/Rancher, sexy, caring, sexy, hardworking, sexy, family and friend lover, sexy, loyal, sexy, honest, and did I mention sexy?

Dallas is everything I love. She is independent, strong, loyal, fun. flirty, gorgeous.

Slow burn at its finest. Just reading the chemistry these two friends have and watching them finally fall for each other was so wonderful.

Beau is just the sweetest, smartest, cutest little cowboy rancher in training out there.

The little bit of mystery was just the perfect touch.. Had my mind wondering! Everything on these pages had me so engrossed and hated to have to stop reading. I have never read this author before, but after reading Stone Hearts, I WILL be reading more of her work! If you love small-town, friends to lovers, you should give Stone Hearts a one click! 5 Stars for sure!!!

Thatcher and Violet

Thatcher has a past. One he detests. One that makes him fell unworthy, but at the same time is the reason he is who he is. Everyone wants to be him or wants to be with him

" In high school, you're either the hunter or the prey. It's all about survival. The bottom of the chain is brutal."

Violet has always been on to not care about what anyone says. She mainly stays to herself. Always polite. The good girl, never breaking rules and striving hard to make good grades.

"You're into her because shes different than the rest of us. She's innocent and kind. She doesn't try to fit in or impress people. She is who she is without apology and zero fucks given."

Her freshman year a bump into Thatcher decided her fate, bullied in a way he could only do. Never truly going out of his way, but still accomplishing it.

"I refuse to be a toy you keep in the box on a shelf. If you want me, you'll have to play with me."

Fast forward a few years later and everything changes. Thatcher, Cole, and Arwen ( The Westbrook 3) come full force into her life. Find out all their shenanigans. The whirlwind of love and friendship that awaits you inside these pages is something I could not stop reading. I read this in one sitting and wanted more. These characters will funnel their way into your heart and mind and you will not want them to ever go away. When The Saint Falls is a wonderful read.

Country Hearts by Cindi Madsen

With them, Jemma discovers the good things about country life, from starry skies to s’mores cooked over a fire. But she still misses her past life in the city. Is there any reason for them to dream of a future together?

Wyatt and Jemma

Jemma is on an adventure as a fill in 3rd grade teacher, as she finishes up her online classes. Her goal is to become someone in administration so she can make changes. Wyatt is her cowboy neighbor, who is a single dad, always keeping busy and keeping away from the nosy gossip of the town.

From the first knock on her door ( a surprising guest) the story will have you smiling and heart full. The interactions everyone has within these pages shows exactly what a small country town entails. I fell so hard for these two and reading the love grow was wonderful.

You will really love every character in Country hearts. I really highly recommend reading this if you love single dad, small town, cowboy romance.

Pretend You're Mine by Fabiola Francisco

I’ve gotten into my fair share of awkward situations... Although, asking a random stranger to be my fake boyfriend is by far the worst. 

In my defense, it was an act of desperation. An act that I hope will keep away the men in town who see me as their ticket to becoming the mayor’s son-in-law. 

But I have a plan.

1. Date my fake boyfriend long enough for the news to spread across town.

2. Have a very public breakup that leaves me too heartbroken to move on.

3. Continue living my happily single life. 

There’s only one problem… Harris wasn’t supposed to be the kind of man I’ve always wanted. 

There’s no denying the sparks that fly between us. Just when I’m about to give him my heart, he does the one thing I can’t forgive. 

Our breakup is public all right, and the heartbreak is real.

Pretend You're Mine: A fake relationship romance by Fabiola Francisco

Harris and Poppy

I absolutely loved reading Pretend You're Mine. Harris and Poppy do not have the traditional way of starting out but it is one that works. They have an attraction and I loved reading how they get to know one another. The dates are so perfect. Watching the chemistry grow between them, seeing them grow attached and fall for each other was wonderful. The flirty banter, the silliness made me swoon and laugh. Beef Jerky will always remind me of these two from here on out. If you love small town romance, even a fake on, I recommend highly that you read Pretend You're Mine.

Drew and Gracie

Gracie is a hardworking, independent woman. She never does the one night stand. That is until the night she does.

Drew is a successful Advertisement agency owner. He is in New York for one day to buy a company. Until the one night stand with Gracie. the next morning there are no strings, right? I highly recommend this book if you enjoy insta love and some seriously hot and steamy scenes. You will also enjoy the side characters. A wonderful read.

Adrian and Tatum
I have been trying to wrap my brain around how to write a spoiler free review for this awesome book. So here I go.

Adrian Stratton and Tatum Rojas are my new favorite couple! The Hockey God and the Math Nerd are so perfect for one another. This Book was so fun to read. There are so many moments! Laugh out loud, swoony, OMG I hate you, Gaspy and whoa, and Steamy moments! This book is FANTASTIC!!! I loved it all! #TheRealGuyBehindTheStick
